President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the White House.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Tragic Event

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.

White House Invitation

The president stated he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump addressed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Community members assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s government program to support policing efforts in the capital.

Honoring Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that instructors desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always willing to help others.”

Service plans for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Government Adjustments

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The incident led the Trump administration to pause refugee claims and halt providing visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor the governor mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed a news show that she also intended to meet with his relatives.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with distinction, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had bravery,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
