The men are exulting in a massacre that relief organizations suspect claimed the lives of more than 2,000 people in the African metropolis of the Darfur city in recent weeks.

A City Isolated from the Outside

Following their control of the urban area under siege for almost 24 months, from the summer the RSF proceeded to strengthen its position and restrict the surviving inhabitants.

Orbital photography show that troops started to build a massive earth barrier - a elevated earthen wall - encircling the perimeter of el-Fasher, closing roads and halting aid.

While the blockade intensified, 78 people were murdered in an RSF attack on a place of worship on mid-September, while the international organization said fifty-three further were killed in aerial and cannon attacks on a refugee settlement in fall.

Disturbing Video Shows Defenseless Individuals Executed

By sunrise on late October the RSF conquered the last military defenses and captured the primary headquarters in the urban area, the headquarters of the Army Division, as the government forces retreated.

One of the most horrific footage to emerge and analysed depicted the aftermath of a mass killing at a campus structure on the west of the city, where scores lifeless forms were observed strewn throughout the floor.

Paramilitary Commanders Attempt to Implement Damage Control

Following the events that ensued from the atrocity, militia chief conceded that his troops had perpetrated "wrongdoings" and stated the occurrences would be looked into.

Among those detained was after a investigation detailing his executions. Deliberately staged and modified recording posted on the RSF's authorized social media platform reveal him being taken into a detention area at a prison on the edges of el-Fasher.

At the same time, the RSF and affiliated digital accounts commenced seeking to alter the narrative.

Updates depicting its militiamen providing supplies to residents were circulated by some users, while the militia's media office published multiple clips allegedly to show the compassionate management of government captives.

Regardless of the online initiative being employed by the militia, their activities in al-Fashir have generated international anger.
