Netflix Chooses Ideal Performer for Bentham in the Hit Series Season 3

Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the major clash won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has just been cast.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bentham. The role possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The actor, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that character reimagined as non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action series, differing from the initial comic and anime.

The new cast member is joined by several other new cast members tasked with bringing Baroque Works to the screen, featuring leader Sir Crocodile, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of the desert kingdom.

Even though Bon Clay is a key figure of the group, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering the next season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this signals a significant shift in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate further changes to the story’s structure.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is due to premiere for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
