Week six of the 2025 NFL season

It's week six in the football calendar , following recent talk regarding two top teams being possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games was the amount of infractions each conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.

However it was positive to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.

Denver have the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers instead they might plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos could be the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year well then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and recent running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable situations.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw all over, however they lack in the same way as Nix. He has incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His assets are his movement, being able to throw while moving, and using varied release points to deliver throws as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defense has to defend the area downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up the way he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. I think the success the Broncos are having on offence is largely down to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix helps shape him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this path.

They're really good at embracing their forte, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the division.

It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
